Today, at the ICTON 2025 conference in Barcelona, a team of researchers presents groundbreaking work that could significantly improve the real-time protection of fiber optic infrastructure — the very backbone of our connected world.
Micropol is proud to have contributed to this research by providing test equipment and optical materials used in the experiments. As a technology partner, Micropol follows this development closely, recognizing the strategic importance of advanced monitoring tools for fiber networks in both civilian and defense sectors.
The technology could pave the way for smarter, real-time surveillance of optical infrastructure — preventing costly downtime, increasing network security, and enabling early detection of sabotage or environmental threats.

Micropol Fiberoptic is growing rapidly, driven by an increased global demand for fiber optic solutions. To meet this expansion, we are investing in both our production capacity and our people. As a result, several new talent colleagues have joined Micropol in recent weeks.
An exciting step forward for Micropol – our new headquarters and production facility in Halmstad is now visibly coming to life. Last week, construction reached an important milestone as the first walls were lifted into place.
